Bathroom Remodeling, Renovation and Improvement Project
Medium Bathroom
The basic layout of this bathroom was not changed. We did remove one small wall and a soffitt, add one small wall, and rebuilt the deck for the tub oriented differently than the original. The shower is slightly larger, and the tile design expressed the homeowner's wishes embodied partly in a design she had seen. We recommended the floor heating, and the customer knew they wanted another vent fan. The lighting was redesigned to accommodate the different vanity cabinetry arrangement. We took care of many of the engineering issues behind the scenes while the customer was involved in the visible design of this bathroom remodel.
Above, just before the cabinetry, there
was a wall, which we removed. We
also removed a soffitt above the old
cabinets to allow the center cabinetry
between the two sinks. We installed
an exhaust fan and ducted it through
the roof.
We installed a
thermostatically controlled
heated floor which feels
wonderful to the bare feet
Note that in addition to the
left and right sinks there is
electrical accommodation
for a dressing table shown
below
The shower is just gorgeous. We built a
short wall to house two body sprays and
the control valves (unseen in above picture
to right side of shower). Two granite
corner shelves and a granite toe rest tie the
shower to the countertops just beautifully.
This is finished off with a frameless door
and return with the same oil rubbed copper
as in the shower fixtures.
Although the tub below looks like a
whirlpool, it is really an air tub! You can
see that the shower design in ceramic is
carried into the tub area. We provided for
an air inlet from the walk-in closet (not
shown).
Beautiful granite works
well with the mirrors,
the dark cabinetry, and
the dark tile.
